About the Class
Classical Hatha
Our Hatha Yoga class follows the classical sequencing of the Krishnamacharya lineage. Each session opens with pranayama and chanting, moves through a methodical asana sequence, and closes with guided savasana. The emphasis throughout is on the quality of breath — asana is the vehicle, breath is the engine.
Classes are kept to twelve students maximum so that every practitioner receives individual corrections. Both sessions per day are structured identically — the morning class draws the internally motivated, the evening class those arriving from the day. Both are equally valid entry points.
No prior experience is required. You will be met wherever you are.

Ananya has been teaching Hatha Yoga in Rishikesh for twelve years. She completed her 500-hour training in the classical tradition and deepened her understanding of alignment through advanced study with senior teachers in Pune. She brings structural precision and profound warmth to every class — a combination that beginners find immediately accessible and experienced practitioners find endlessly instructive.
